HIER, "UN MONDE EN MARCHE CONTRE LA FAIM"

Départ de la Marche Piazza del Popolo hier à Rome

Dans plus de 350 villes du monde, du Cap à Moscou, de Pékin à Toronto, au moins 700.000 personnes ont participé hier à la manifestation intitulée "Un monde en marche contre la faim" organisée par le Programme alimentaire mondial (Pam) pour sensibiliser aux Objectifs du Millénaire.

L’initiative a été rappelée par le Pape Benoît XVI avant la prière du Regina Coeli. La participation a été trois fois plus importante que l’an dernier. Presque partout il a été rappelé que chaque jour dans le monde 18.000 enfants meurent de faim ; ils pourraient être facilement aidés, sans gros sacrifice, par beaucoup de pays qui disposent d’un surplus alimentaire.

Certains des Missionnaires d'Afrique de la Maison Généralice à Rome participaient à cette marche.

YESTERDAY, "A WORLD OF PEOPLE MARCH AGAINST HUNGER"

March begins from Piazza del Popolo in Rome yesterday

In over 350 cities of the world, from the Cape to Moscow, from Peking to Toronto, close to 700,000 people took part in a demonstration entitled "A world of people march against hunger", organised by the World Food Programme (WFP) to raise awareness of the Millennium Objectives.

Pope Benedict XVI mentioned the initiative before the midday Regina Coeli prayer. Attendance was three times greater than last year. Almost everywhere, it was recalled that every day 18,000 children die of hunger; they could easily be helped without major sacrifices on the part of many countries that have surplus food.
